It's not just about believing. It's also about belonging.
Home groups and Hubs are important at Grace because we believe that God helps us become more like Christ best through relationships. We hope you'll move from believing to belonging by joining one of our Home Groups or Hubs soon.
Word of God + Spirit of God + The People of God = People more like the Son of God
What is the goal?
The goal is to take your next step towards Jesus. We believe the Home Group or Hub is the best place for this to occur.
What do you do?
In a Home Group, you study the Bible together and discuss how it applies to life. It's where you pray together, care for one another, and are missed if you don't show up.
In a Hub, in addition to the above, you mobilize into the mission field as a group. It's more than a Bible study or community group. It's a missionary team.
What are they like?
Home Groups are groups of 10-20 individuals who meet in someone's home for fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and accountability. Typically, these groups meet one night a week for about 2 hours. Some groups bring food to enjoy before and/or after.
Hubs also meet for about 2 hours for food, fellowship, study and prayer. However, they also intentionally plan and pray for their Hub's missionary effort. It's more than everyone is engaged where they live, work and play. It's what this group of people is doing on mission...together.
What do you study?
We study books of the Bible, do video series on Bible topics or study topical books. Each group decides what they want to cover together. Past and current studies include:
Nehemiah, Proverbs, Matthew, John, Acts, James, Colossians
Crazy Love, The Five Love Languages, Forgotten God, Multiply, 7 Signs in Book of John, I Am a Church Member, Share Jesus Without Freaking Out.
Andy Stanley, Louie Giglio, Taking Care of Business and handling your finances.
Discuss that week's sermon passage.
What Groups does Grace Christian Fellowship have?
We currently have three coed Mission groups in Summerville (Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday nights) along with one ladies group (Sunday nights). These mission groups meet twice a month focusing on loving our community and our neighbors. These groups multiply into smaller groups for Bible study and prayer (Home Groups) the other two times a month.
Our youth also meet together on Sunday nights at 6:30 pm in host homes.
Starting Point is our group that meets several times a year and this group is for folks who are interested in questions about faith and/or church membership.
More groups starting in 2019. Please let us know if we can help you connect to a mission or home group near you.
